    The RoboClaw 2x5 Amp is an extremely efficient, versatile, dual channel synchronous regenerative motor controller. It supports dual quadrature encoders and can supply two brushed DC motors with 5 Amps continuous and 10 Amp peak.

    With dual quadrature decoding you get greater control over speed and velocity. Automatically maintain a speed even if the load increases. RoboClaw also has a built in PID routine for use with an external control system.

    RoboClaw is easy to control with several built in modes. It can be controlled from a standard RC receiver/transmitter, serial device, microcontroller or an analog source, such as a potentiometer based joystick. RoboClaw is equipped with screw terminal for fast connect and disconnect. All modes are set by the onboard dip switches making setup a snap!

    Being a synchronous regenerative motor controller means when ever RoboClaw is slowing down or breaking the batteries are being charged. With the advance circuitry it can also change direction during full throttle without damage!

    RoboClaw also includes a jumper selectable 5V BEC and lithium cutoff mode which protects your batteries from damage. Get the power to win your next robotics competition!

    Robo Claw requires a male-to-male RC adapter cable when used with RC receivers.

    This speed controller has tons of features. I think that it is sturdier than the sabertooth. But I am using it a spare right now, because I don't have enough time to figure everything out to be sure about using it in my robot. Not having leads for a receiver is good and bad. It is kind of a pain to have to use a male to male connector, but I ensures a more reliable connection than the flimsy connections on the sabertooth. Also I liked how the screw terminals were much sturdier compared to the sabertooth's, that twisted all over the place. Another good feature is the thick heat sink, because it protects the bottom side. Don't think that all the features will make it confusing, because if you read the section of the manual that applies to what you are using it for, you can configure the DIP switch in a few minutes.
